BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU men's cross country team proudly hosted the LIU Fall Festival on Friday afternoon.
And
Elyas Ayyoub stuck with the leaders for a good portion of the 8K event before ultimately finishing third with a time of 25:18.48.
The Sharks finished third in the meet with 59 points, trailing winner Wagner (31) and Hofstra (42).
"I was holding on until the fourth lap, but I fell off a bit," Ayyoub said. "I improved and hoped the next one I'll hold on a little longer and kick them in the end."
LIU's
Perry Balsamo (27:51.71),
Justin Rajab (28:07.25) and
John Schwab (28:12.83) finished consecutively in the Nos. 13 through 15 positions.
The Sharks next compete at the Paul Short Invitational in Bethlehem, Pa., on Sept. 30.
