BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The Northeast Conference announced its Men's and Women's Cross Country All-Conference and All-Rookie awards Thursday. LIU's Hasnae Goulamzi earned All-Conference honors, and Robby Levy was named to the All-Rookie team.
Goulamzi was recognized for her performance at the NEC Cross Country Championship, where she finished second with a time of 17:22.90. The sophomore also secured a sixth-place finish at the ECAC Championships and earned NEC Athlete of the Week honors for her achievement. She became the first LIU women's cross country athlete to receive the award since 2022.
Throughout the season, Goulamzi was named an NEC Prime Performer three times, with highlights including her performances at the ECAC Championships, LIU Fall Fest, and Stony Brook Invitational.
"Hasnae is really a coach's dream. She has a determination and grit that can't be taught. It's either in you or it's not," said coach Stormie Charles. "She went straight from a second-place finish to a nursing exam without missing a beat! She earned this honor."
Levy wrapped up a strong freshman season with a 17th-place finish at the NEC Cross Country Championship, posting a time of 27:08.10, which was fourth among freshmen. He also earned an NEC Prime Performer award after finishing with a time of 26:48.3 at the LIU Fall Fest.
"Robby has shown a dedication to training hard from day one, and it shows. I am not surprised that he finished this cross country season with All-Rookie honors. He earned it," Charles said.
