EAST MEADOW, N.Y. — Tindra Holm made a career-high 61 saves in the season opener against then-No. 5 Minnesota Duluth on Saturday night. She followed that up by recording 53 saves the next night against the Bulldogs.
And on Tuesday, Holm was recognized as the first NEWHA Goaltender of the Week of the 2022-23 season.
Holm, a sophomore from Skellefteå, Sweden, owns a .942 save percentage and 3.53 goals against average after the back-to-back games against the 2022 national finalists.
Holm was a member of the NEWHA All-Rookie Team and was a second-team All-NEWHA selection after producing a 16-11-2 record, 1.99 GAA and .932 save percentage in 29 games last season. Her save percentage ranked 13th in NCAA and second among freshmen, trailing only UConn's Megan Warrener (.944).
Holm also was the NEWHA Student-Athlete of Year.
The Sharks (0-2) return to action with games Friday and Saturday at No. 4 Northeastern.
