BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The LIU women's water polo won two games at home Saturday, despite being shorthanded. The Sharks beat Villanova, 15-12, and La Salle, 12-11 to remain undefeated at 6-0 this season.
In game one, the Sharks consistently held on to beat the Wildcats. They led, 7-6 at the half, and would outscore Villanova 8-6 in the final two periods to take the win. Freshman
Paola Dominguez led the Sharks, with five goals and four assists, while
Jessica Dean had four goals and four assists.
Julia Zebak had 12 blocks in net for LIU.
In the second game, LIU held on to take the one goal win over the Explorers. Dean led the Sharks with five goals, while sophomore
Jenna Anderson had three goals and three assists.
Zebak made nine blocks in net to keep the Sharks in the game.
