EDISON, N.J. — Redshirt freshman Julia Allen and freshman Elena Grigoriou of the Long Island University women's water polo team received Third-Team All-MAAC honors on Friday, the conference announced. 

Allen, a native of Lake Worth Beach, Florida, led the Sharks in several statistical categories this spring, including goals (66), points (80), and drawn exclusions (79). The redshirt freshman utility also totaled 14 assists, 25 steals, and one block this season. 

Appearing in and starting all 27 games for the Sharks this season, Allen received four MAAC Rookie of the Week awards (Feb. 18, March 4, March 11, April 1). 

Grigoriou, a native of Voula, Greece, led LIU with 30 assists and 16 blocks this season, finishing second in points (67), and third in goals scored (41), steals (tied, 30), and exclusions drawn (19). 

Having appeared in and started all 27 games for LIU this spring, Grigoriou earned MAAC Rookie of the Week honors on Feb. 4.
