EDISON, N.J. — Redshirt freshman Julia Allen of the Long Island University women's water polo team received Kap 7 MAAC Water Polo Rookie of the Week honors, the conference announced on Wednesday. 

This is Allen's third rookie of the week award this season, having previously taken home the same award on Feb. 18 and March 4. 

Allen led LIU with 15 goals in LIU's five-game road trip in California, additionally posting eight steals and drawing nine exclusions. Against No. 3 USC, Allen scored two goals and drew three exclusions. 

The Lake Worth Beach, Florida native scored seven goals on nine shots in LIU's 24-9 win over Orange Coast College on Monday, finishing the game with three assists and four steals. 

LIU begins MAAC play on Wednesday, March 11, when it hosts Wagner College at 6:30 p.m. in Brooklyn.
