CAMBRIDGE, Mass.— The Long Island University women's water polo team concluded non-conference play on Sunday afternoon with contests against Bucknell and Brown at the Harvard Invitational. The Sharks battled Bucknell in the morning, falling 12-6 before a 15-4 defeat to Brown capped the weekend at Bloggett Pool.
Game 1 - Bucknell 12, LIU 6
The 22nd ranked Bison held the scoring advantage in the opening half, outscoring LIU, 5-2 in the first two quarters. Bucknell created separation in the third with 4-1 margin on goals. The Sharks matched the Bison in scoring in the fourth with three goals to bring the final score to 12-6.

Taylor Thurlow all scored in the final quarter for the Sharks.
Game 2 - Brown 15, LIU 4
The Sharks were unable to slow down the high powered Brown offense in the weekend finale. Brown scored early and often with a 5-1 lead at the end of the first half. The Bears then utilized a six-goal third to the two LIU goals to win the second meeting of the season between both teams, 15-4.

Kate Fischer also scored for the Sharks.
UP NEXT
The Sharks will take next weekend to rest up before beginning Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play. LIU will host its first game at LIU Pool on Saturday, March 21 at 3:00 p.m. against Iona College.
