POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.— The Long Island University women's water polo team travels up north for the Courtney Fisher Invite, hosted by Marist College at McCann Natatorium on Saturday, February 22. The Sharks will first take on Siena College at 1:00 p.m. before ending the day against tournament host, Marist at 7:15 p.m.

NOTES ON THE SHARKS
LIU is coming off a 1-2 weekend at the Princeton Invitational against three quality opponents. The Sharks earned a 17-16 double overtime win over a George Washington team that was receiving votes in the CWPA top-25 poll on Saturday. LIU closed the weekend with a pair of contests against ranked foes, falling 17-5 to No. 22 ranked San Diego State and a 13-9 setback to No. 21 ranked Princeton.

Jessica Dean led LIU with eight goals and five assists for 13 points. Rookie
Jeannet Garcia added six goals and three assists. Freshman
Kate Hinrichs led the Sharks defense with four steals and goalie
Julia Zebak totaled 21 saves.
SCOUTING THE SAINTS
Siena enters the weekend with a 5-3 record on the season and is coming off a four-win weekend at the Mercyhurst Invitational.
Sophomore Georgia Vargas was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week after recording 14 goals and nine assists for 23 points in the 4-0 weekend. Freshman Danni Croteau was named MAAC Rookie of the Week after netting 11 goals and one assist last weekend.
Senior Diana Fernandez leads the Saints offense with 26 goals and 11 assists in eight games. Anna Mossakowski has totaled a team-high 26 saves in goal for Siena.
SCOUTING THE RED FOXES
Marist comes into the weekend ranked 24th in the latest CWPA Top-25 poll. The Red Foxes have battled a number of ranked opponents to start the year, entering Saturday with a 3-10 record. The team will kick off Saturday's tournament with a matchup against No. 18 Wagner before ending the night against the Sharks.
Sophomore Viktoria Orlova paces the Marist offense with 20 goals and three assists for 23 points. Freshman Shinae Carrington has added 13 goals and six assists with a 65% shooting percentage in 13 games. In goal, sophomore Marina Hyham has recorded 49 saves.
