Orlando, Fla. – Walid Jarfani secured a third-place finish in the 1500m race for the LIU men's track & field team at the UCF Black & Gold Invitational this weekend.
Jarfani came up in the clutch with a time of 3:46.44 in the race. His strong finish headlined three impressive performances in the 1500m race for the Sharks, with
Jayden Curry (32nd place overall) finishing with a time of 3:56.74 -- good for second in his respective heat -- and
Brian Masai coming in 37th overall with a 4:00.61 time.
Curry also placed eighth in the Men's High Jump, with a mark of 1.96m.
Elsewhere at the Black & Gold Invitational,
Hasnae Goulamzi placed 17th for LIU women's track & field in the Women's 1500m race, with a time of 4:31.22.
LIU will compete in the Mets Championship on Saturday, April 4.
