Staten Island, N.Y. – LIU men's and women's track and field teams took part in the Fastrack Invite on Friday, with
Phillip Baynes Jr. and
Sonjay Baylor-Reeves coming away with first place finishes.
Baynes Jr. finished first in the Men's Triple Jump with a 15.07m mark. Baylor-Reeves – a two-time NEC Rookie of the Week award recipient thus far – earned herself the top spot in Women's Shot Put with a 13.73m mark.
Fresh off winning Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors this past week, the success continued for
Hasnae Goulamzi, who came in second place in the Women's 1 Mile Run with a time of 4:47.60. Fellow Shark
Amiyah Michel went on to place third in the Women's Triple Jump with a 11.33m mark.
Tianna Stewart additionally secured a fourth place finish in Women's Weight Throw, boasting a 16.73m mark of her own.
Brian Masai --- an NEC Prime Performer this past week – came in fourth in the Men's 800 Meter Run, clocking in with a time of 1:51.14.
The Sharks will compete next at the NEC Indoor Championships on Feb. 15 and 16.
