TEMPE, Ariz. - The Long Island University women's water polo team left the Sun Devil Classic with two wins, having defeated Biola University 17-14 on Saturday and the University of La Verne 24-10 on Sunday.

LIU scored six goals in the opening quarter against Biola, with the first coming on a shot by freshman Elena Grigoriou. The Sharks never trailed against Biola, having led by as many as six goals in the fourth quarter before eventually claiming their three-goal win.

Julia Allen led LIU with eight goals on 10 shots, while sophomore Greta Tadday (four goals), redshirt junior Ashlee Dobell (two), and Grigoriou each netted multiple goals in the win.

LIU picked up an early 5-0 lead against La Verne on Sunday, aided by back-to-back-to-back goals by freshman Chloe Liddle. The Sharks extended their lead to double digits at the end of the second quarter before claiming a 14-goal win over La Verne.

Grigoriou, Liddle, and sophomore Greta Tadday each scored four times against La Verne, while Allen, Dobell, freshman Grace Hansen, and freshman Nevaeh Houck all finished with two goals apiece.

In between LIU's wins over Biola and La Verne, the Sharks fell to Azusa Pacific University 15-9 and No. 6 Arizona State University 23-5.

LIU returns to the pool on Feb. 28, when it takes on Princeton University at the Harvard Invite.
