Kansas City, MO — The Sharks have risen to fifth in the latest United Soccer Coaches Northeast Region Poll,
unveiled on Tuesday.
LIU has momentum on its side, still undefeated through seven games with a 3-0-4 record.
The Sharks' winning ways have continued, with the team fresh off a 5-2 victory over Quinnipiac in their most recent game on Sept. 16.
Niklas Thanhofer turned in a hat trick, scoring three goals, and
Jack Stainrod led LIU with four assists.
Francisco Tolaba and
Sam Keogan also scored goals in the win as the Sharks set a new season-high.
An NEC Prime Performer this week, Keogan has also been a key cog in anchoring LIU's impressive defense this season, helping the team tally three clean sheets thus far.
LIU returns to play on Tuesday, Sept. 23, visiting Drexel at 5 p.m.
