Hamden, Conn. — Niklas Thanhofer's hat trick led LIU to a 5-2 win over Quinnipiac on Tuesday afternoon as the Sharks scored a season-high in goals.
LIU trailed 1-0 less than two minutes into the game, but the deficit didn't last long at all. Fresh off an NEC Prime Performer nod this week,
Sam Keogan tied things up at one less than a minute later. The Sharks took the lead at the 10:33 mark thanks to
Francisco Tolaba's first goal of the season. From there, Thanhofer took over, scoring LIU's next three goals, helping his team secure the win en route to quite the big-time performance.
Also coming up in the clutch was
Jack Stainrod, who put on a passing clinic with assists on four of LIU's five goals. The Sharks improved to 3-0-4 on the campaign.
LIU will next take the field on Tuesday, Sept. 23, visiting Drexel at 5 p.m.
