BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Niklas Thanhofer has been named NEC Player of the Week after leading the undefeated Sharks to their latest win.
 
The senior played a big role in LIU's 5-2 win over Quinnipiac on Sept. 16, scoring three goals and completing a hat trick as his team scored a season-high in goals. Thanhofer scored LIU's final three as they improved to 3-0-4 on the season.
 
Also receiving recognition alongside Thanhofer this week was Jack Stainrod, who earned a Prime Performer nod. The fellow senior turned in a similarly clutch performance, connecting with his teammates for assists on four of LIU's five goals in the win against Quinnipiac.
 
The Sharks will take the field next on Tuesday, Sept. 23, visiting Drexel at 5 p.m.
