STOCKTON, Calif., — The LIU women's water polo team completed its record-breaking season in the preliminary round of the NCAA Championship.
The Sharks fell short to Biola 10-8 in Chris Kjeldsen Pool at Pacific University on Wednesday afternoon.
Paola Dominguez scored the go-ahead goal for the Sharks to give LIU an 8-7 lead with 3:55 left in regulation.
Biola scored three unanswered goals in the final three minutes to complete its comeback against the Sharks.
Diba Peiravani, Jessica Dean, Kate Kendricks, and Elena Camarena all found the back of the net for the Sharks.
LIU finished its historic season 22-13, which included winning its first-ever MAAC Championship against rival Wagner.
