BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU Athletics community gathered at the Tilles Center on Wednesday evening to celebrate the successes of the 2022-23 academic year.
The festive evening included recognizing the LIU team champions: the cheer and dance squads, which won national titles, as well as the NEWHA champion women's ice hockey team, NEC champion women's tennis and men's volleyball teams, and the nationals-bound equestrian team.
Men's tennis (3.77) and women's cross country (3.81) were recognized as having the highest team fall GPAs.
Top individual honors went to women's volleyball's
Anastasia Scott and men's fencer
Mo Elsayed as the Athlete of the Year winners and women's hockey's
Tindra Holm and men's cross country/track's
Elyas Ayyoub as the Scholar-Athletes of the Year.
Men's ice hockey was recognized as the most philanthropic.
