BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — LIU opened up its series vs. Wagner with a 15-4 win on Saturday, scoring fifteen runs for the second time this season.
Tying their season-high in runs, the Sharks did all of their damage in the first three innings, driving in thirteen between the second and third innings alone.
Jake Kelleher led the way with a 3-for-4 performance, driving in four on the game, including a bases-loaded clearing double in the third.
Joseph Durso went 3-for-3 with a double and one RBI, and
Nick Matson pitched in with a 3-or-5 outing, with two RBI and two runs scored as well.
Mike Polubinski and
Elijah Fairchild drove in a pair each for LIU.
Nicholas Finarelli got the win on the mound for the Sharks, striking out five through five and a third innings.
LIU will return to the field on Sunday, March 15, hosting Wagner in a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
