BETHPAGE, N.Y. —The LIU men's and women's lacrosse teams showcased their unwavering commitment to the community during the 15th Annual Bethpage Turkey Drive.
Both teams arrived at the food drive bearing a collective donation of more than 150 items, comprising non-perishable essentials aimed at supporting individuals and families in need throughout the forthcoming holiday season.
"Giving back to the community means a lot to our program," senior midfielder
Tommy Ramsey said. Being able to put food on the table for those in need is a really special feeling."
The Turkey Drive, an initiative benefiting the Island Harvest Food Bank, stands as Long Island's largest one-day food drive. Over the span of 15 years, this endeavor has contributed over 45,000 turkeys and more than 200,000 pounds of food to those requiring assistance.
