PRINCETON, N.J. — Jessica Dean had no goals at half vs. No. 15 UC San Diego while the LIU women's water polo team held a 6-5 lead.
That changed quickly.
Dean fired in five goals in the final two quarters and sealed a 14-11 win over UCSD to give the Sharks their second win of the season.
This marked the second time the Sharks have beaten a top-15 team in their young history.
Paola Dominguez-Castro continued her hot start to the 2023 season with five goals.
Elena Camarena was the only other goal scorer with four.
The defense only allowed 11, their fewest goals given up through three games.
LIU returns to action at the Bruno Classic on Feb. 4 at 10 a.m. against Brown.
