BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The LIU men's golf team hosted the Shark Invitational and placed first out of eight teams in the two-day tournament. Three Shark golfers placed in the top ten with
Lewis Wright finishing in second at -2, Lucas Gabura finished tied for fourth at +1, and
Kyle Underwood finished seventh at +4. This concludes the Sharks fourth spring event of 2022.
Through all three rounds at the tournament, LIU shot 292, 280, and 286 as a team, some of their best finishes of the season. Wright shot some of his best golf all season and secured his second place by shooting 68 in the final round. His final round score was the best of any golfer during the final round of the tournament.
As for the rest of the team, the Sharks finished first and second for birdies with Gabura (14) in first and Wright (11) tied for second. Gabura also topped the tournament in in par five scoring with a 4.22 stroke average to finish -7 on par five holes.
Up next, the Sharks go back on the road to Villanova Pennsylvania to compete at the Villanova Wildcat Spring Invitational on Monday, April 18
th.
