Arjun Singh Bhatia of the Long Island University men's golf team was named NEC Men's Golfer of the Month, the conference announced on Thursday. In two competitions to open the 2025-2026 season, the reigning NEC Golfer of the Year recorded a stroke average of 70.6. This marks Singh Bhatia's fourth career NEC Golfer of the Month/Week award.
Singh Bhatia's best performance of the month came at the Ironwood Intercollegiate, hosted by East Carolina University, where he finished third out of 84 golfers, shooting an 8-under 208 (70-72-66) while leading LIU to a seventh-place team finish (-3) out of 15. The Chandigarh, India native outshot competition from schools like ECU and the University of Central Florida, while finishing just two strokes behind the leader.
Singh Bhatia also carded a 3-over 145 (70-75) at the Ryan Lee Memorial to finish in a tie for 17
th in the field of 75. The Sharks finished fifth (+13) out of 15 teams.
The men's golf team returns to competition on Monday, Oct. 13, at the Phoenix Invitational hosted by Elon University at Alamance Country Club in Burlington, North Carolina. A week later, LIU hosts its lone meet of the fall season, the Nassau Intercollegiate, at Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, New York.
