BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU women's gymnastics team hosted Temple University Sunday in a dual meet. The Sharks fell to the Owls in a very close meet, 195.800-193.850.
SHARK BITES
- LIU began the afternoon on beam. Freshman Karsyn Foster had the highest score of the group, posting a 9.775, a new career best.
- On the second rotation, the Sharks moved to bars, where sophomore Jah'Liyah Bedminster kicked things off with a 9.875. Sophomore Mara Titarsolej anchored and led the team with a 9.925.
- The mark by Titarsolej earned her an event win. Bedminster and sophomore Lauren Miller finished second and third, respectively.
- LIU shifted to beam for its third rotation. Freshman Ilka Juk earned a team-high score of 9.750.
- Moving to the floor, Amanda Loo earned a win in the event with a mark of 9.900. The Sharks saw sophomore Reagan Jones tie her career-high of 9.800. Sophomre Ella Barrington scored a 9.750.
Up next, LIU will travel to Towson University on February 4 where they will take on Temple, as well as Towson and Eastern Michigan in a quad meet.
