Raphaëlle Perreault & Camille Lund Rasmussen Earn 1st EAGL Weekly Awards

Perreault & Lund Rasmussen led the Sharks to a 1st Place Victory at the Empire State Collegiate Championship for the 1st time in Program History

BROOKVILLE, N.Y.– Sophomores Raphaëlle Perreault and Camille Lund Rasmussen of the Long Island University women's gymnastics team were recognized by the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) for the first time in their careers on Wednesday. Perreault was named EAGL Co-Gymnast of the Week and Lund Rasmussen was named EAGL Co-Rookie of the Week.
 
Perreault secured her first all-around title of her career after posting a career high 39.025 throughout the night. She set career-high scores on the floor (9.850, T-5th Place) and vault (9.800, 2nd Place), while also setting a season-high score on the balance beam (9.800, 3rd Place).
 
Lund Rasmussen won her first floor title of her career after posting a career high 9.875. She also tied her career high on the balance beam with a 9.675 and recorded a 9.575 on the uneven bars.
 
With both Perreault and Lund Rasmussen recording career nights they helped the Sharks in winning the Empire State Collegiate Championship for the first time in program history. LIU recorded the highest overall team score (194.750) under head coach, Taylor Colwell and set season-high team scores on the uneven bars (48.425), balance beam (48.800), and floor (49.250).
 
Up next for the pair of sophomores, the LIU women's gymnastics team will host the University of New Hampshire, University of Bridgeport, and Rhode Island College on Friday, Feb. 20, starting at 6 p.m at the Pratt Recreation Center.
