PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Long Island University women's gymnastics team continued to grow during its first season, completing its penultimate regular season meet at Temple University on Sunday, March 7.
The Sharks recorded a new season-high team score on vault with a 48.200 and floor with a 48.300. On vault,
Amanda Loo,
Lauren Miller,
Katy Koopman, and
Alyssa van Allen all recorded scores of 9.700 or better, led by a new program-record score of 9.775 from Loo.
Alisson Lapp shined on bars despite the Sharks not having their best effort on the event. Lapp earned a 9.800 during her routine, just beneath her personal best of 9.825.
Four Sharks earned a 9.700 or higher on beam as well, including van Allen, Koopman,
Ella Barrington, and
Taylor Doten. Doten took third overall in the event as her routine earned a 9.825, a new personal and program-best mark. Lapp and
Lauren Miller had outstanding routines on floor, both netting a 9.725. The mark was a new personal-best for Miller.
LIU will close out the regular season on Saturday, March 13 when it travels to North Carolina State University for a head-to-head meet with the Wolfpack beginning at 2:00 p.m.
