Lancaster, Pa. – LIU won three out of four games at the NCFFL Regionals this past weekend.
On Friday, April 10, the Sharks began the tournament with a 2-0 win over Iona. A sack by Maní Boyd late in the second quarter proved to be the decisive play of the game as LIU pulled ahead.
LIU and Iona met again later in the day, with the Sharks picking up another win, this time winning 28-0.
LIU would emerge victorious once more, with a 19-12 win over Harford Community College on Saturday, April 11.
Harper Skeie threw three touchdowns in the game, including two to
E'lise Lyrse and one to
Samantha Puelles. Boyd rushed for 63 yards and
Rileigh Vandekieft rushed for 52.
Defensively, the Sharks' defense came up with five interceptions over the course of the tournament, with Lyrse leading the way with two, and Puelles, Vandekieft, and
Amanda Anacreon each with one apiece.
LIU will play next on Tuesday, April 14, returning home to host Wagner at 5 p.m.
