Event to be hosted by NFL TV personality Kay Adams

2/20/2026 12:00:00 AM

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Prior to beginning its inaugural 2026 campaign, the Long Island University women's flag football team will attend the first-ever Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's Flag Football Media Day -- hosted by the New York Jets -- on Friday, Feb. 27, at MetLife Stadium, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The inaugural media day will introduce the conference's 15 teams, players, and coaches to the local and national media. Head coaches and players from participating teams will field questions from the media throughout the program and will be made available for one-on-one interviews.

Kay Adams, host of the NFL daily show Up & Adams, will emcee the event and moderate a panel discussion which will focus on the continued growth of girl's and women's Flag Football in the United States and abroad. Panelists will include Dan Coonan, ECAC Commissioner, Callie Brownson, USA Football Senior Director, High Performance & National Team Operations, and Brianna Hernandez-Silva, Team USA Flag Football Player.

In December 2025, the Betty Wold Johnson Foundation and the New York Jets announced a $1-million commitment to the ECAC to launch the largest collegiate flag football league in the United States. Gameplay will feature the seven-on-seven format of flag football. Regular season games will be played February through April at campus sites, culminating in the championship game at the Jets' Atlantic Health Training Center during the first weekend in May.

LIU's inaugural schedule will be announced at a later date.
