Staten Island, N.Y. – Taking part in the Wagner Invitational,
Hasnae Goulamzi secured her second first place finish in as many days for the LIU women's track and field team.
Goulamzi was the top finisher in the Women's 5000 meter run on Saturday, coming in first with a time of 17:00.96. It was the latest in a string of impressive performances for the junior, who on Friday beat her own previous school record for the Women's 3k race with a time of 9:43:46 at the Gotham Cup. She also placed first in that event as well.
Elsewhere at the Wagner Invitational, Goulamzi's Sharks teammate
Sonjay Baylor-Reeves joined her with a top finish of her own, coming in first place in the Women's Shot Put with a mark of 13.79m.
Tianna Stewart also came in second in the Women's Weight Throw with a 16.18m mark.
Jayden Curry went on to perform well for the LIU men's track and field team, emerging with two top-three finishes in his events. The freshman was the second-best finisher in the Men's 500 Meter Dash, with a time of 1:04.69. He also came in third place in the Men's High Jump with a 1.92m mark.
