EAST MEADOW, N.Y. - Junior goaltender
Clara Kammholz of the Long Island University women's hockey team was named New England Women's Hockey Alliance (NEWHA) Goaltender of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. The weekly award is the first by an LIU Shark this season.
In Friday night's season-opening win over the University of Delaware, Kammholz recorded 24 saves and allowed just one goal, posting a .960 save percentage, as the Sharks downed the Blue Hens 4-1.
The Sharks (2-0-0) return to action on Friday, Oct. 10, at Saint Michael's College, in the first game of a weekend pair to open NEWHA play.
