BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Kaysie Luna has been named NEC Cross Country Women's Co-Rookie of the Week following a strong showing at the LIU Fall Festival.
 
Taking part in the women's 5k race in Brookville on Sept. 6, Luna clocked in at a time of 19:46:63 and a pace of 6:22. 
 
Also receiving recognition for LIU cross country was Walid Jarfani, who was named an NEC Men's Cross Country Prime Performer. Jarfani was LIU's top performer in the men's 8k race, boasting a finishing time of 26:04:22 and a pace of 5:15, good for third place individually as the LIU men's squad finished in second place as a team.
 
LIU cross country will next compete in the Ted Owen Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 20.
