BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Kaysie Luna has won the NEC Cross Country Women's Rookie of the Week award for a third time this season, after serving as LIU's top finisher in the women's 6k race at the IC4A/ECAC Cross Country Championship.
Competing on Oct. 17, Luna earned herself a 97th place finish in the race with a time of 23:01.8 and a 8:31.2 split.
Such success comes on the heels of Luna's previous two wins, following strong showings at the LIU Fall Festival (and her first win on Sept. 10) and the Paul Short Run (with the second honor coming on Oct. 8).
"I am so proud of Kaysie," LIU Director of Cross Country & Track & Field
Stormie Charles said. "She has proven to be quite the athlete thus far and I am looking forward to witnessing her continued growth as a student-athlete."
Luna and LIU will return to competition at the NEC Championship on Saturday, Nov. 1.
