BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - Sophomore setter Roei Horovitz of the Long Island University men's volleyball team received Prime Performer recognition from the Northeast Conference on Monday.
Horovitz, a native of Beer Sheva, Israel, totaled eight kills on 12 total attacks, 77 assists 21 digs and one total block in last week's two games at Saint Francis University. In Friday's match against the Red Flash, Horovitz posted 41 assists, the fourth time this season the sophomore setter has recorded 40-plus assists in a match.
This is the fifth Prime Performer award for Horovitz this season, also garnering the honors on April 7, March 31, March 4 and February 4. Horovitz was also named the First Point/NEC Men's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on March 4.
The Sharks, who concluded the regular season last weekend, are the No. 2 seed in this weekend's NEC Men's Volleyball Championship. LIU takes on No. 3 seed Daemen on Friday at 3 p.m. in Loretto, Pennsylvania.
