LORETTO, Pa. - The Long Island University men's volleyball team (17-7, 5-2 Northeast Conference) fell to Saint Francis University (12-13, 6-1 NEC) on Friday night, dropping the conference matchup against the Red Flash 3-1. 

Both squads were neck-and-neck through the first two sets, though it was the Red Flash that would jump out to an early 2-0 lead in the match, winning both of the first two frames by scores of 25-23. 

Despite trailing 2-0 in the match, the Sharks continued to fight, finding themselves tied at 15 just over halfway through the third set in Friday's match; LIU would outscore the Red Flash 10-6 down the stretch of the set, cutting the Saint Francis lead to 2-1 in the match. 

The fourth was another closely contested battle, as LIU trailed 20-19 late in the frame, but the Red Flash held off the Shark comeback bid to claim a 25-22 win in the fourth set, winning the match 3-1 

Junior outside hitters Chase Celichowski and Kale Spencer tied to lead the Sharks in kills with 15 apiece, with junior outside hitter Vanja Petrasinovic also finished in double figures with 10 kills. Sophomore setter Roei Horovitz paced the Sharks with 41 assists, also racking up 10 digs. 

LIU takes on the Red Flash again on Saturday at 4 p.m.
