LAKEWOOD, N.J. – The 14
th-ranked Long Island University acrobatics and tumbling team earned a fourth consecutive meet win, downing Georgian Court University, 249.500-201.295, in its regular season finale on Friday night. The Sharks posted two season-high scores and tied another season high in the win.
In Toss Heat 1, the grouping of
Jana Guardiola Dispes,
Georgina Moorhouse,
Madysen Bradley,
Danica Prokay, and
Taylor Jackson scored a season best 9.45 out of 9.9.
Makaela Steele's open tumbling pass earned a mark of 9.175, also a season high.
LIU tied a season high in the Acro 5 Element with a score of 9.75 out of 10, a mark that currently qualifies for event finals at the national championships next month.
"The team had fun, finished strong, and it was awesome to see how well Georgian Court competed from year one to year two," said head coach
Shelby Armstrong. "It's always fun to match up with them being so close by and it was a great meet with decent scores to end on!"
With regular-season competition concluded, the Sharks await the announcement of the National Collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling Association National Championship field for event finalists.
