BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – As the Long Island University acrobatics and tumbling team honored its seven-member senior class, the Sharks extended their winning streak to three consecutive meets with a 236.700-208.075 win over Caldwell University on Friday night at the Pratt Recreation Center. Student-athletes
Madysen Bradley,
Ariel Beete,
Georgina Moorhouse,
Nicole Espinoza,
Raegan Cromwell, and
Courtney da Silva, and graduate assistant
Liz Markley, were all honored in front of the home crowd.
The highlight of the meet came from the team of Bradley, Moorhouse,
JeanneMarie Tomaselli, and
Christina DeVincenzo, who posted a season high in the Acro 7 Element scoring 9.6 out of 10.
"Our last meet at home for the season was a lot of fun!" said head coach
Shelby Armstrong. "After coming off of two wins and a week-long spring break trip that consisted of three meets, it was nice to be at home again and feel the energy of our home crowd. As a staff we kind of took a step back last night and let the team, and the seniors, lead each other. The energy on the bench was a lot of fun, and while our scores weren't as high as they were last week, we still came out with a good win and a season high in our Acro 7 Element. We celebrated seven seniors last night and we are looking forward to finishing the regular season next Friday!"
The Sharks conclude the regular season this upcoming Friday, March 28, at Georgian Court University at 6 p.m.
