BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — LIU's acrobatics & tumbling team opened up the 2025 season in the same way it opened 2024, once again hosting Iona in a February meet.
Despite a competitive first half, the Sharks fell to its opponent, with Iona pulling away with a 254.190-233.410 win.
"We had a really great showing for our first meet of our second season. Facing Iona again for the first matchup this year was exciting. They are a clean and consistent team and always fun to play," head coach
Shelby Armstrong said. "We had a really strong first half, ending up tied with Iona after two events, and fell behind in tumbling. We are proud of how hard the team fought for every point in the first half, and are excited to make some changes and increase some start values in the coming weeks before heading into our meets in March and finishing out strong in the second half."
LIU will host its next home meet on Saturday, February 22 when Quinnipiac visits the Pratt Recreation Center at 7 p.m.
