BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – LIU Athletics announced today that Jazmyn Foberg has been hired as an assistant coach for the gymnastics program.
"I am thankful for this incredible opportunity at LIU," shared Foberg. "A huge thank you to Taylor for believing in me. I am extremely excited to work with this amazing team and am looking forward to building something special together."
Foberg comes to LIU after serving as an assistant coach at Arizona State University, a position she's held since October 2023. She was the primary vault coach, secondary coach on the floor, and worked heavily on floor-routine choreography. She also served as the head gymnastics coach at the Apollo School of Gymnastics from August 2022 to August 2023, running all facets of the accomplished program's operations.
The Florida-native's gymnast career is filled with accolades, including three SEC championships while competing at the University of Florida. Foberg was also a four-time SEC Academic Honor Roll Recipient, displaying the important student-athlete qualities that resonate at LIU. She was a three-time member of the US National gymnastics team from 2014 to 2016, where she was a two-time USA national champion.
Last Thursday, LIU announced the hiring of Taylor Colwell as the program's new head coach, which garnered rave reviews on social media.
"I am thrilled to welcome Jazzy to the LIU family," said new head coach Colwell. "She brings a wealth of experience as both an athlete in the SEC and a coach in the PAC-12 and I have no doubt that she will make an immediate impact on this program. Jazzy's deep passion as well as her commitment to the student-athlete experience will help take this program to the next level."
