BOSTON, Mass. — LIU's rugby team kept their momentum going with a 36-0 rout of Northeastern behind strong efforts from
Sayler Russell,
Kori Fields, and
Jade Robinson.
Head coach
Dee Nash watched her team dominate from the outset and spring onto the scoreboard in the 29th minute thanks to a successful try from Russell and a conversion by
Harper Schindler.
Just two minutes later, Fields broke free and picked up her fifth successful try of the year with another Schindler conversion. Fields finished with two tries, giving her a team-leading six on the young season.
Russell added two more tries in the contest, while
Jade Robinson picked up her first try on the year. Schindler finished 3-for-5 on conversions, nailing her first three on the afternoon.
In their last two games, both wins, the Sharks have outscored opponents 77-20, and are climbing up the NIRA standings.
The Sharks head to Maryland to play one of the top-ranked teams in the nation in Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, October 12.
