BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — The LIU football team proudly partnered with the Beautiful Lives Project for the third consecutive year, creating another memorable and inspiring day for all participants and student-athletes involved.
The Beautiful Lives Project is dedicated to giving individuals with disabilities the chance to actively engage in activities and events that may have previously been inaccessible due to physical or facility limitations. This collaboration embodies the spirit of inclusion and community support that LIU Athletics strives to foster.
On Friday morning, the Sharks welcomed over two dozen participants to the field, where they engaged in a variety of football drills including throwing, tackling, running, and catching. The energy and excitement were palpable as participants experienced the thrill of playing on a collegiate football field, supported and cheered on by LIU student-athletes and the Sharks' coaching staff
"We take a lot of pride in giving back to the community," said third-year head coach
Ron Cooper. "Today is a special day for all involved, and we are thrilled to have the Beautiful Lives Project back at Long Island University."
The event not only provided a unique and enjoyable experience for the participants but also served as an invaluable lesson in empathy and teamwork for the LIU football team. The partnership with the Beautiful Lives Project continues to be a highlight of the year, reinforcing the University's commitment to making a positive difference in the community.
