NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — Over the weekend, the LIU men's and women's track and field teams took part in the NEC Championships at CCSU.
LIU's best performance of the day was put together by the 4x100 relay team of Joseph Fontes, Elehchio Scott, Renaldo Allene-Noriega and Makhi Theosmy. The group took first place in the race while also posting a season best time of 41.04.
The men's 4x400 team of Scott, Fontes, Theosmy and Lekh Desai posted a season best for points with four, finishing fifth with a time of 3:13.93.
London Claxton finished sixth in the women's 400, posting a personal record of 58.78.
Alessandra Pastor ran a personal best in the 400 with a time of 1:04.04.
Connor Knight recorded PRs in the discus (42.95m) and hammer (46.28m).\
Theosmy ran a personal best in both the 200 (22.12) and 400 (47.90) He finished in fourth in the 400 and eighth in the 200.
Tianna Stewart had a great showing in both the discus and hammer, reading personal record in both. She posted a 34.17m in the discus and 43.13m in the hammer.
The Sharks will return on Saturday for the ECAC Championships in Fairfax, Va.
