Staten Island, N.Y. — The LIU men's and women's track and field teams will open the 2024-25 season at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.

On Friday, LIU will compete in the Fast Track Season Opener before finishing the weekend at the Youree Spence-Garcia Invitational on Saturday.

The Sharks will return Westbury, N.Y., native Faith Shaw, who was named Women's Co-Most Outstanding Field Performer after winning gold in the weight throw and finishing fifth in the shot put at the NEC Indoor Track & Field Championship.

LIU will take a break following the two meets for the remainder of 2024. The Sharks' next competition will be at the Gotham Cup on Jan. 17, 2025.
