PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - This past weekend, the Long Island University track and field team set a pair of program records at the Penn Relays hosted by the University of Pennsylvania.
The men's 4x800-meter relay team of
Walid Jarfani,
Brian Masai,
Joshua Roos, and
Ryan Bailor recorded a time of 7:36.43, besting the previous LIU record of 7:37.80 set in 1970, en route to an 11
th-place finish. The relay team finished just .43 seconds behind the Northeast Conference record of 7:36.00.
On the women's side,
Hasnae Goulamzi posted a new program-record time of 16:35.24 in the 5,000 meters, topping the previous record of 16:47.7 set by Kelly Iocca in 2022.

Stormie Charles. "These records are a direct reflection of the hard work all of our athletes are putting in daily to be the best they can be."
The Sharks return to competition, May 3 and 4, at the NEC Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Stonehill College in North Easton, Massachusetts.
