                     BROOKLYN, N.Y. — The LIU fencing teams were able to get back on track ahead of the NCAA Regionals on Sunday at the Shark Showdown. The men's team went 3-1 while the women went 2-2. The wins for both teams included decisive victories over Hunter and Lafayette. The men defeated Wagner and the women fell in a very close round.
Padick Loyola had a very nice meet, recording nine victories that included a sweep over Hunter.
Richard Chen tallied seven victories, 
Ryan Stewart and 
Caleb Brutus each had five.
Khrystyna Sarkisian and 
Costanza Greggi had the most victories for the women, each with seven.
Nevaeh Ulibarri, 
Daniela Perez Leal, 
Abigail Hunt and 
Sarah Ellis all had six victories. 
The Sharks return at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships at the Pratt Recreation Center on Sunday March 10.
