MADISON, N.J.— The LIU men's and women's fencing team competed in the Drew Rangers Fall Invitational on Sunday.
The women's team continued to stay absolutely on fire, once again sweeping the field (6-0) and improving their record to 11-0.
The sweep including an impressive 25-2 victory over Yeshiva as well as 20-7 victories over Cleveland State and FDU.
Chejsa-Kaili Seck and
Nevaeh Ulibarri were star sabres once again, combining for a 27-4 record.
Costanza Greggi was the best epée during the meet, taking a home a 9-3 record.
The foils were sensational the entire day.
Abigail Hunt, Anna Szantay (who went undefeated),
Daniela Perez Leal and
Khrystyna Sarkisian combined for a superb record of 37-6.
The men's team opened their season in the invitational and showed promise.
The day included a big win over Yeshiva 22-5, but the men narrowly dropped multiple matches and ended the day 1-5.
Mo Elsayed was incredible. He kept momentum rolling from his gold medal in Orlando and went undefeated in 18 bouts.
Andrew Gefell had a nice day, totaling 11 wins.

Caleb Brutus,
Ryan Stewart,
Jabreel Green,
Padick Loyola and
Philip Manitt all made their debuts during the meet.
The Sharks will return on Sunday Dec. 3 when they travel to the Brandeis Invitational.
