NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. — The LIU women's swimming and diving team took on NYU on Saturday afternoon after a late addition to the schedule earlier this week.
The Sharks fell, 189-73, in non-conference action.
Venna Andersen and
Ella Johnson were the sole first-place finishers for LIU.
Andersen's 2:23.85 earned first in the 200-yard breaststroke while Johnson finished with a time of 57.95 in the 100-yard butterfly.
Additionally, Johnson finished two seconds off first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:06.91).
Among other notable finishes were
Maaike Broersma, who placed third in the 50-yard freestyle. Andresen notched a second-place finish in that event, as well.
Magali Mouton,
Emma Koehler and
Claire McFerrin finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Alycia Weber placed third in the 100-yard backstroke.
LIU returns to action on Friday, Feb. 3 at Wagner before returning back home the following day for Senior Day against the Seahawks.
