BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - The Long Island University women's swimming and diving team was selected to finish fifth in the NEC Women's Swimming and Diving Preseason Poll, the conference announced on Thursday.
At the 2025 NEC Championships, LIU claimed gold and bronze medals in the women's 400-yard individual medley and had silver medals in the women's 200-yard butterfly and the 100-yard butterfly. Additionally, the Sharks placed third in the 200-yard medley relay and the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Central Connecticut State University led the way with four first-place votes, followed by Howard University with three first-place votes. Rounding out the poll was Wagner College (third), Saint Francis University (fourth), LIU (fifth), Stonehill College (sixth), and Le Moyne College (seventh).
The Sharks open the 2025-26 season at home against Saint Francis on Oct. 25.
