LITTLESTOWN, P.A. – It was a special day for LIU women's golf as 
Julia Towne secured her first individual win of 2022 at the Quail Valley Spring Invitational. As a team, the Sharks finished third overall behind Wagner and Monmouth, the team champion of the tournament.
"I'm so proud of Julia and her performance today," said head coach 
Lily Bartell. "She's been putting in the hard work and it's paying off. The team really improved today, and we are looking forward to conference and seeing what we can get done out there, too."
 
Towne and Paige Diecidue both shot a 76 in rounds one and two, forcing a sudden death situation on playoff holes. On the third hole, Towne birdied to win the tournament, her first and LIU's first individual win of the season. 
 
Additionally, LIU had multiple top finishes with the next highest coming from Vera Arrebola Granes, shooting an 84 on day one but rallying back to shoot a 76 in round two and finish eighth overall. Not far behind was Lexi Delorimiere, finishing tied for 11
th and improved her score by six shots after the rounds concluded. 
Ashlee Garrett and 
Juliana De Leon finished inside the top-30 to round out the group.
 
Up next, the Sharks will travel to LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla. for the Northeast Conference championships on Wednesday, April 20.
