BRIDGEWATER, N.J. - The Long Island University women's golf team was picked third in the NEC preseason coaches' poll for the upcoming spring 2026 season, the conference announced on Thursday. The Sharks received three of 13 first-place votes.

LIU enters the spring season after a fall campaign that featured a top-three finish at Lehigh University's Autumn Harvest Invitational in late September. The Sharks return all six golfers from last year's team. Sara Detlefsen is in her second year as head coach.

LIU opens its spring 2026 season campaign, Feb. 20-22, in the Battle at the Beach, hosted by Stonehill College at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club in Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
