Box Score STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The LIU women's tennis team concluded their regular season with a 4-0 victory against cross-island rival Stony Brook on Sunday afternoon. The Sharks finish the regular season at 18-4 overall and 6-1 in NEC play.

"We were very impressed with the way the team came out today," said head coach Jan Griga. "A superb turnaround from Friday especially given today's chilly and windy conditions. The focus, the energy, and the determination were all there. I think the loss on Friday taught us a lot and definitely made us much tougher. We are looking ahead to a strong conference tournament next weekend." 
 
SHARK BITES

• LIU got hot early taking both matches on the double's courts 6-2 for the early 1-0 match lead.
• Shifting to singles play, Reigning NEC player of the Year Sofiya Kuzina ended her regular season with a straight set victory over Mathilda Sreeves 6-0, 6-3 to send LIU ahead 2-0.
• Court two saw continued success for the Sharks as NEC Player of the Week Valentina Dancenco took down Kristina Theys 6-2, 6-4 to move the Sharks to within one point of clinching the win.  
• Victoria Eretchenko clinched the 4-0 victory for the Sharks with her 6-2, 6-2 victory on court four over Loreto Rubino.
• With her victory, Danceno finished the regular season as the top player at No. 2 singles with a perfect 9-0 record.
• The Sharks finish the regular season as the number one seeded team in the NEC with six conference wins.
• The Sharks are back in action this weekend when they look to defend their NEC crown at the NEC Championships set to take place Thursday-Saturday, April 14-16 at the Mercer County Tennis Center in West Windsor, N.J.
