Women’s Swimming Meets Wagner

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – The LIU women's swimming took on Wagner on the road Friday in the first dual meet of 2022. The Sharks fell to the Seahawks, 190-97.

SHARK BITES

The 200 medley relay team of Rea Shehu, Venna Andersen, Jacqueline Grabowski and Lydia Amon came in second with a time of 1:47.55 to lead off the meet.
Sophomore Femke Backx won the 200 free with a time of 1:59.85.
Ella Johnson also had a first-place finish in the 200 fly, winning the event in 2:05.37. Freshman Annalise Stingle came in second with a time of 2:12.39.
Johnson also won the 100 yard butterfly, with a time of 57.39.
Grabwoski had a top finish, as she won the 50 free in 24.86.
Sara Rodriguez Rubio and Shehu finished second and third in the 100 back, with times of 1:00.33 and 1:00.37 respectively.
Andersen also had a second place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:05.39.
Up next, the Sharks host Merrimack, Saturday, February 5 at 1 p.m.
