Box Score PRINCETON, N.J. — Saki Oyama and
Victoria Erechtchenko are headed to the ITA Super Regionals.
The women's tennis doubles tandem claimed the berth by defeating NJIT's Shivani Ingle and Joleta Budiman, 8-4, in the quarterfinals at the ITA Regionals at Princeton on Sunday.
The duo recorded 8-4 victories over conference foes Saint Francis U and Wagner en route to the quarterfinals.
The Super Regionals will be held at Yale in New Haven, Conn., Oct. 21-24.
Oyama also advanced to the round of 16 in singles before falling to Columbia's Sophia Wang. Erechtchenko reached the third round.
Leopoldine Boisseau defeated Drexel's Renata Lombera before falling to Amira Badawi of Rutgers in a closely contested match.
"It was a very good weekend for us," coach
Jan Griga said. "Our players came out focused, with great intensity, and played some excellent tennis as a result. Even though some of the matches did not go our way, we were right there with the best in the region, which is a great sign for the season ahead."
